Maadhyam 2014, the annual media fest at Christ University, Bangalore was organized by the final year Journalism students on January 28, 2014 at the Main Auditorium. The theme for this year’s Maadhyam was “Trial by Media” – a phenomenon which has not only been debated over the years but also quite relevant in today’s scenario. The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Chitra Subramaniam Duella, renowned investigative journalist known for her contribution to the unearthing of the Bofors scam in 198. She was joined on the dais by the Vice Chancellor, Rev. Dr. Fr. Thomas C. (CUT) Christ University Theatre– Above the ordinary More than 55 teams performing for over 15 hours - 5 th and 6 th February was a time for teams from across the country and across Christ University to create the magic of theatre. Collaborative effort, creativity, coordinated organizing, willing volunteers, breathtaking moments, varied emotions, enthusiastic audience, encouraging faculty members, supporting staff – all   led by an open hearted visionary management led by Fr Thomas and Fr Varghese. Manthan is an inter- deanery B-plan competition held in Christ University, annually. This year too we had a successful Chapter. This year the event was spread over three rounds comprising of a Mentoring session and two rounds to churn out the best business plans of Christ University.  We had a total of 23 teams registering for the mentoring session and 13 of them appearing for the first round consisting of 30 participants. The teams hailed from various departments across the university including Deanery of Science, Department of Commerce, Department of Management Studies. We had an elite panel of judges for the first round comprising of accomplished personalities of the corporate world. Four teams qualified for the second and final round of the competition. Electronics Club had organized E-junction 2014, an Inter Class Electronics Fest on Saturday, 01 Feb 2014 . It was arranged in room no 911, 9 th floor, Central Block, between 1.30 pm and 5 pm.   The program started with an invocation song by Apoorva Ananth Hegde of 4 PME. Electronics Club initiated another best practice of inviting an alumnus of the department and working in Electronics related field to address the students during E-Junction. So this time it was Mr. Vinu Narayan, working in Cadence (a leading provider of EDA and semiconductor IP) and also Secretary, Alumni Association, Dept. of Electronics.
