Report on Darpan 2015 held in Kengeri Campus

The advent of the new academic year as any other brings along another set of new opportunities at CUFE for students to showcase their skills and talents. The first of such glorious events was Darpan 2015, which was held from 6th July – 13th July. Darpan provided a stage for a large number of students to perform and prove their knacks and abilities. Ranging from literary events like Quiz & Extempore to breathtaking dance and musical events, Darpan had many participants this year, also comprising of a strong number of fresher’s who hardly had any time before their courses’ wheels got turning.

All the events happened tremendously well with a lot of enthusiasm and spirit, which is very much needed to encourage healthy competition, and for the development of the university such as ours in stature. Nevertheless, the Student Welfare Organization should be appreciated for portraying their skills professionally in organizing all the events with zeal. In conclusion, Darpan proved to be a platform for many brilliant performances. To some, it stood as an opportunity to show their talents and to others, a chance to hone their skills.

Department of History and   Kannada,Christ University in collaboration with Karnataka Numismatics Society , Bangalore organized a one day   exhibition, workshop and lecture on numismatics” on 12 July,2014 in Gourmet extension and Assembly Hall ,Block -2 from 9 am to 3pm. The programme was divided into two slots, exhibition and lecture session. The programme began with an   inauguration of the exhibition in gourmet basement at 9.30 by Mahesh Jambulingam , President , Karnataka Numismatic Society and Dr.John Joseph Kennedy, Dean, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. Report on Annual Sports Day 2013 - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

Report on Annual Sports Day 2013 School of Education organized a one day Sports day for its students of B.Ed and MA Education on the 16 th of February 2013. Its objective was to develop in the students a sporting spirit, a venue to display their physical prowess and gain hands on experience of organizing a sports day at a school in future.   The day was scheduled to begin at 7:30am at the Christ University campus, where the students assembled near the auditorium block. Two buses were utilized to transport the students to the Christ University Kengeri campus which was the venue of the Sports Day. All required arrangements were made there. On reaching the campus at 9:00 am, there was short break for tea. Ample seating arrangement and a tent was erected on the vast sporting grounds of the campus. REPORT ON DISPLAY OF TEACHING AIDS - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The event that has given the opportunity to the teacher trainees to display and demonstrate their teaching aids and teaching models was conducted on 10 th January,   2014.   The event was inaugurated by Prof. Mallika Krishnaswami, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. The Dean addressed the student teachers with an inspiring talk. Ma’m spoke about the way the School of Education showcases their creativity, talent which is inspiring year after year.   Every year, teaching becomes more challenging with the students becoming more restless and energetic.   So, it is quite a bit challenging for the teaching fraternity to grab their attention.   With technology growing exponentially and information being easily accessible for the students, dependency on class room teaching is reducing.   But the emotional connection between teachers and students cannot be replaced with technology.   With teachers being committed and professional to what they do, overall develo
