REPORT ON THE GUEST LECTURE ON “CAREER PROSPECTS IN GENOMICS” BY HITESH GOSWAMI AND AVINASH DHAR, BIONIVID – A COLLABORATIVE VENTURE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF LIFE SCIENCES AND BIONIVID ON FEBRUARY 11, 2019

An invited talk was organized by the Dept of Life Sciences in collaboration with BIONIVID on February 11, 2019 in Room No 911,Central Block, Main Campus of CHRIST (Deemed to be University). The Dean of Science, Dr Surendra Kulkarni gave the Welcome address. Mr Hitesh Goswami and Mr Avinash Dhar delivered talks on the topics “Career Prospects in Genomics” and “Genomics in Everyday Life” respectively. The talk was attended by the undergraduate students of BSc. BCZ. BCB, CBZ and the final year MSc Biotechnology students. The aim of the talk was to stress the importance of genomics in the world of science and technology today. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Suma S, Associate Professor, Dept of Life Sciences who coordinated the session. The students enthusiastically participated in the query session too.
