The Life Sciences
Association inauguration was held on June 25, 2019 in the KE Auditorium, Block
IV, Main Campus, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Bangalore. The Chief Guest of
the day was Mr. Vibhava Shukla, Associate Scientific Manager, Biocon Ltd., Bangalore.
The inaugural event started with an invocation dance by the students of Life
Sciences. It was followed by lighting the lamp where Mr. Vibhava Shukla, Fr
Jobi Xavier, the HOD of Life Sciences, President of the Association and the CFO
of CHRIST, Dr Anish Nag, Coordinator of the Life Sciences Association, along
with Dr. Sayantan., former Coordinator of Life Science Association, Prof.
Antony P.U., Prof. Xavier Vincent, Prof Manjunath and Prof. Ganesh did the
honours. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Anish Nag. He also presented
the new logo of the Association, released e-book for PG internship report
compilation and also introduced newly elected members of the Association. This
was followed by a scholarly lecture by the chief guest on Drug design and
development. After the lecture, Prof Xavier addressed the students on the topic
of environmental awareness. Fr Jobi addressed the gathering afterwards. The
vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Amie Maria Jiji, 2 MSc Biotechnology and the
General Secretary (PG Council) of Life Science Association.
