Visit to Nelamangala power substation
in Bangalore
Students of fifth semester, Electrical
and Electronics Engineering, C.U.F.E., visited the Nelamangala power substation
in Bangalore on the 4th of July. Students spent two hours at the
substation premises seeing in practice and learning about current and potential
transformers, lightening arrestors and surge
arrestors. They were given a
demonstration on the working of circuit breakers and were also told about the
current electricity demands and the various techniques used to achieve the
demands.
The industrial trip was undertaken
to give the students an actual view of the various terms they learn in class in their
current semester. The students were accompanied by Prof. Manikandan, Asst.
Professor, Dept of Electrical and Electronics Engg.
