A Report on - Inauguration of CACE (CHRISTITES ASSOCIATION OF CIVIL ENGINEERS)

CACE inauguration for the academic year 2014-15 was held on 21/06/2014 at 10:00AM in III block Auditorium. Kengeri campus.

The chief guest of the program was Mr.A.T.Samuel, Director, STUP Consultants Pvt. Ltd and the guest of honor was Dr.V.Ramachandra, Zonal Head-Technical, Ultratech Cement Limited. Other dignitaries were Fr. Antony Puthussery, Campus coordinator, CUFE and Prof. Raghunandan Kumar, Coordinator, Civil.


The session started with an invocation which was done by the students. Prof. Raghunandan Kumar, Coordinator, Civil Department welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was delivered by Fr. Anthony Puthussery, Campus Coordinator, CUFE.

Prof. Arjun H. R, Students coordinator announced the office bearers for the academic year 2104-15.

Mr. Don Thomas a student of VII semester was awarded the certificate of merit from Ultratech Cement Pvt Ltd for scoring the highest marks in Materials of Construction. Mr. A. T. Samuel gave a lecture on Civil Engineering for Sustainability. The chief guest is presently the Director of STUP Consultants Pvt. Ltd and as a rich experience in structural design.  He has worked for projects in Russia, U.A.E, Oman, Bangladesh, Srilanka and India and has many outstanding Structures and Projects to his credit.

Dr. V. Ramachandra gave a lecture on Opportunities and challenges in civil engineering. The guest of honour is presently working as Vice President, Ultratech Cement Pvt Ltd and has a vast experience in concrete technology. He is also currently the Vice President (South), Indian Concrete Institute and Member, Civil Engg. Division Council, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), New Delhi and also the Member, Board of Studies - Civil Engg., in various Universities / Institutions.

The vote of thanks was given by Prof. Arjun. H. R, the function was concluded by university anthem.

Report on Annual Sports Day 2013 School of Education organized a one day Sports day for its students of B.Ed and MA Education on the 16 th of February 2013. Its objective was to develop in the students a sporting spirit, a venue to display their physical prowess and gain hands on experience of organizing a sports day at a school in future.   The day was scheduled to begin at 7:30am at the Christ University campus, where the students assembled near the auditorium block. Two buses were utilized to transport the students to the Christ University Kengeri campus which was the venue of the Sports Day. All required arrangements were made there. On reaching the campus at 9:00 am, there was short break for tea. Ample seating arrangement and a tent was erected on the vast sporting grounds of the campus. REPORT ON DISPLAY OF TEACHING AIDS - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The event that has given the opportunity to the teacher trainees to display and demonstrate their teaching aids and teaching models was conducted on 10 th January,   2014.   The event was inaugurated by Prof. Mallika Krishnaswami, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. The Dean addressed the student teachers with an inspiring talk. Ma’m spoke about the way the School of Education showcases their creativity, talent which is inspiring year after year.   Every year, teaching becomes more challenging with the students becoming more restless and energetic.   So, it is quite a bit challenging for the teaching fraternity to grab their attention.   With technology growing exponentially and information being easily accessible for the students, dependency on class room teaching is reducing.   But the emotional connection between teachers and students cannot be replaced with technology.   With teachers being committed and profession...

A Report on One Day Exhibition, Workshop and Lecture on Numismatics

Department of History and   Kannada,Christ University in collaboration with Karnataka Numismatics Society , Bangalore organized a one day   exhibition, workshop and lecture on numismatics” on 12 July,2014 in Gourmet extension and Assembly Hall ,Block -2 from 9 am to 3pm. The programme was divided into two slots, exhibition and lecture session. The programme began with an   inauguration of the exhibition in gourmet basement at 9.30 by Mahesh Jambulingam , President , Karnataka Numismatic Society and Dr.John Joseph Kennedy, Dean, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University.
