REPORT ON THE INAUGRATION OF MAC – MECHANICAL ASSOCIATION OF CHRISTITES

MAC or The Mechanical Association of Christites was formally inaugurated on 19/07/2014, at 11:00 a.m, at the Block I auditorium, Kengeri Campus. MAC is the department association of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Christ University Faculty of Engineering.

The chief guest for the event was Mr. Simanth Arun, Deputy General Manager, ToyotaKirloskar. Other dignitaries present were Dr.Iven Jose, Associate Dean, CUFE and Dr.Gurumoorthy S. Hebbar, HOD, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The ceremony started with a brief insight in to the department and its activities over the last year, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. MAC faculty coordinator, Dr. Rathnakar G., delivered the welcome address and Dr.Iven Jose delivered the inaugural address.

Dr.Gurumoorthy S. Hebbar facilitated the Investiture Ceremony and introduced the new office bearers as follows:

The chief guest Mr.Simanth Arun, Deputy General Manager, Toyota Kirloskar, held a very interactive session with the students and addressed them about how they can contribute effectively to the society at large.

Prof Mohan B. V. delivered the vote of thanks and the ceremony concluded with the University Anthem.

Report on Annual Sports Day 2013 School of Education organized a one day Sports day for its students of B.Ed and MA Education on the 16 th of February 2013. Its objective was to develop in the students a sporting spirit, a venue to display their physical prowess and gain hands on experience of organizing a sports day at a school in future.   The day was scheduled to begin at 7:30am at the Christ University campus, where the students assembled near the auditorium block. Two buses were utilized to transport the students to the Christ University Kengeri campus which was the venue of the Sports Day. All required arrangements were made there. On reaching the campus at 9:00 am, there was short break for tea. Ample seating arrangement and a tent was erected on the vast sporting grounds of the campus. REPORT ON DISPLAY OF TEACHING AIDS - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The event that has given the opportunity to the teacher trainees to display and demonstrate their teaching aids and teaching models was conducted on 10 th January,   2014.   The event was inaugurated by Prof. Mallika Krishnaswami, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. The Dean addressed the student teachers with an inspiring talk. Ma’m spoke about the way the School of Education showcases their creativity, talent which is inspiring year after year.   Every year, teaching becomes more challenging with the students becoming more restless and energetic.   So, it is quite a bit challenging for the teaching fraternity to grab their attention.   With technology growing exponentially and information being easily accessible for the students, dependency on class room teaching is reducing.   But the emotional connection between teachers and students cannot be replaced with technology.   With teachers being committed and professional to what they do, overall develo

A Report on One Day Exhibition, Workshop and Lecture on Numismatics

Department of History and   Kannada,Christ University in collaboration with Karnataka Numismatics Society , Bangalore organized a one day   exhibition, workshop and lecture on numismatics” on 12 July,2014 in Gourmet extension and Assembly Hall ,Block -2 from 9 am to 3pm. The programme was divided into two slots, exhibition and lecture session. The programme began with an   inauguration of the exhibition in gourmet basement at 9.30 by Mahesh Jambulingam , President , Karnataka Numismatic Society and Dr.John Joseph Kennedy, Dean, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. Faculty members along with prominent members   from Numismatics Society witnessed the session.     The next slot of the programme was held in Assembly Hall, block 2, from 9.45 am to 11 am.
