The Department of Tourism Studies
organized the inauguration of Konkurrenz and Association Activities along with Coalesce
2014 on July 7, with the aim to exhibit the inherent cultural talents of the B.Com
(Tourism and Travel Management) students.
As the first event to be hosted by the Department in the new academic
year 2014-15, the main objective of organizing the event was to promote interaction
and team work, and build a sense of competitive spirit among the students. 
The Chief Guest, Mr Anand Menon, Regional
Head – South, Kuoni (SOTC) inaugurated this event by lighting the lamp and
addressing the faculty members and students of the Department. This year the
programme was presented under the watchful guidance of Dr Tomy K Kallarakal, Head
of the Department and the Coordinator, Dr Joby Thomas.
The inauguration of Konkurrenz and
Association Activities was followed by the various events of Coalesce 2014
includingquiz, theatre, music and dance. Group participation was encouraged so
as to encourage all the students of the Department to interact with each other.
The event turned out to be huge achievement as the First Year students of B.ComT
received a platform to showcase their talents and introduce their arrival into
the fold of the University, in a grand way.
