The department of Physics and Electronics had organized the Electronics project exhibition on 15 April 2023 in the Bangalore Central campus. The exhibition was put up by the final year BSc PME and CME students with very exciting Electronic projects. A total of 37 projects were on display by about 110 students who presented their project work with the chart and models to the visitors. The students and faculty members from various departments visited the exhibition and interacted with the teams. Dr. George Thomas, Dean, School of Sciences, Dr. Manoj B, Head, department of Physics and Electronics visited the stalls and appreciated the students for their innovative work. Prof. Sandhya Kotigere, Drexel University, USA, who is alumnus of the department visited the exhibition with her colleague Prof. Minana,Rogelio . Celebration of International Day of Happiness 2023

The international day of Happiness was celebrated by the department of Physics and Electronics on 20 March 2023. The department had organized an Essay writing Event for the students. The theme was, “How to be happy and make others happy without the use of technology and digital devices”. The main objective of the event was to create an awareness among students that one can be happy even without smartphones or technology. The theme made them to think beyond their smart devices and social media, apps and websites. A total of about 100 students participated in the event. The major things wrote in all the essays were, about spending time with family and friends in reality and not through video conferencing, going out with the family members, classmates to enjoy the nature, playing sports in the field not on phone screens, involving in some activities they like to do, continuing their forgotten hobbies, etc. This activity made the students to think about enjoying in real world rather than b...

  On 28 February 2023, Department of Physics and Electronics hosted a Science Day Talk as a part of the Science Day celebrations, that featured a talk titled “The search for nes laws of nature” by Dr. Raghavendra Rao, Associate Professor at the Department of Physics, PES University, Bengaluru. The event was attended by the students of MSc Physics program, as well as faculty members from the Department of Physics and Electronics. Dr. Rohan Fernandes, Faculty coordinator of the event briefed about the event and session. Ms. Trisha Prabhu of final year MSc introduced the speaker with a welcome note. The department of Physics and Electronics had organised a seminar by Dr. Madhavi Rangaswamy, Professor, Department of Psychology, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore on 8 March, 2023 in the mini Auditorium, Bangalore Central campus to celebrate International women’s day. The theme of the talk was “Gender equity in the era of AI”. The programme started with Dr Rupali Patel, Department of Physics and Electronics, welcoming and introducing the Speaker, Prof. Madhavi Rangaswamy.   In her talk, Prof. Madhavi highlighted the need to address gender gaps in access to technology with an urgent priority. She also emphasised on the urge to develop gender-responsive digital initiatives and policies. The Department of Physics and Electronics had organized a Workshop on PCB Design and Fabrication for the BSc Electronics students (PME and CME) on 12 November in association with Sukant Projects laboratory Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, in UG Electronics lab, Block 1, Bangalore Central Campus. The workshop aimed at developing necessary technical skills in undergraduate electronics students that are required by the Electronics manufacturing industries especially in the field of PCB design and fabrication. Dr. Mukund N Naragund, Workshop - Coordinator introduced the technical team from Sukant Projects laboratory Pvt. Ltd., to the participants and briefed about the importance of the workshop. Report on “i2R”, an awareness campaign 2022

The II year BSc (PME and CME) students had organized an Awareness Campaign “i2R”, under the guidance of faculty members from the Department of Physics and Electronics on Wednesday, 6 April 2022 in the pathway, Central campus from 11am to 2pm. The themes for the campaign were, Save Energy and E-waste & its management.   The objective of the campaign was to enable students to describe the concept and create an awareness among the students from science and other deaneries about the energy related issues, e - waste hazards and its effective management. There were a total of 110 students grouped into 36 teams, they prepared innovative charts, posters and brought sample products, explained the theme to the visitors during the campaign.   The campaign helped the participating teams to enjoy new learning method by sharing information about effective e-waste management, renewable energy sources. Report on Electronics Project Exhibition 2022

The Annual Electronics Project Exhibition was organized by the Department of Physics and Electronics on 27 April, between 12 to 4pm in the Pathway of Bangalore Central Campus. The objective of holding this exhibition is to provide a platform for the final year students to explain the project work carried out by them and demonstrate its working to the visitors thereby promoting the learning process with hands-on experience. The exhibition was organized by the B.Sc. final year students of both PME and CME classes as a part of their VI semester project work under the guidance of the faculty members of the department. There were 138 students with a total of 52 working projects on display during the event. The students enthusiastically demonstrated the working of their projects using actual circuit and charts to the visitors.
