A Report on ASCII Inauguration


ASCII (Association of Students of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology with I) 2014-15 inauguration was held on Friday 27 June 2014 at 9:30AM in Block I auditorium, Christ University kengeri campus. Theevent was attended by all the students of BTech (CSE/IT), MTech (CSE/IT)and faculties of department of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology. It was coordinated and managed by the students of third semester MTech. 

The chief guest for the event was Mr. Krishna Sai, Co-founder and CTO of Livingtree who was also accompanied by Ms. Meena Sai and Mr.Shivakumar. The other dignitaries were Fr Antony Puthussery, Dr. Iven Jose Associate Dean and the convener, Prof. Balachandran K, head of the department of Computer Science and Engineering and Information technology.The inaugural address was given by Mr. Iven Jose. The chief guest of the day was Mr. Krishna Sai who is the co-founder of Livingtree. He has spent over 15 years in technology, innovation and product development leadership areas of unified communications, collaboration, and solutions design. He has done his BE from Bangalore University and MS from Louisiana State University in Computer Engineering. He was the vice president and chief architect in Polycom and was responsible for the technology strategy, IP, solutions architecture, innovation and key M&A activities. He also has two startups in the areas of computer graphics, image processing and VOIP. He gave a technical session about the “Emerging trends in socialcomputing and applications”. It covered various aspects like building the security and privacy regarding the social networking. He also talked about other interesting aspect which is the LinkedIn maps and discussed the complexity regarding them. He also showed an example graph structure which was much resolved and easier to interpret.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Denny Dominic, the president of ASCII. Finally the session concluded with the university anthem.
