ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATIONS 2017

The Students of MBA (Tourism and Travel Management) and BBA (Tourism and Travel Management) of School of Business Studies and Social Sciences, Christ University celebrated World Environment Week in the Bannerghatta Road Campus from June 05 to 10, 2017. World Environment Day is observed around the world on June 05 every year. United Nations uses this day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of the Natural Environment.

                                                                                         
First celebrated around the world in 1973, the Day has grown to become a global platform for public outreach, with participation from over 143 countries annually. Each year, World Environment Daycomes up with a new theme that major corporations, NGOs, communities, governments and celebrities worldwide adopt to advocate environmental causes. The Celebrations in the Campus on the theme, “Connecting People to Nature” implored the students and the staff to venture outdoors and engage in activities that would help appreciate the beauty and importance of Nature. The Campus was decorated with posters on the need to save the environment and competitions were organized on decorating the Class Notice Boards on the theme. The activities organized everyday such as quiz competitions and music, as a part of raising awareness implored everyone to take forward the call to protect Mother Earth through fun and exciting ways.

Department of History and   Kannada,Christ University in collaboration with Karnataka Numismatics Society , Bangalore organized a one day   exhibition, workshop and lecture on numismatics” on 12 July,2014 in Gourmet extension and Assembly Hall ,Block -2 from 9 am to 3pm. The programme was divided into two slots, exhibition and lecture session. The programme began with an   inauguration of the exhibition in gourmet basement at 9.30 by Mahesh Jambulingam , President , Karnataka Numismatic Society and Dr.John Joseph Kennedy, Dean, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. Faculty members along with prominent members   from Numismatics Society witnessed the session.     The next slot of the programme was held in Assembly Hall, block 2, from 9.45 am to 11 am. The session was presided by Dr. John Joseph Kennedy where Mahesh Jambulingam's   lecture on   numismatics included origin and preservation of coins, coins of   various dynasties-

Report on Annual Sports Day 2013 - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

Report on Annual Sports Day 2013 School of Education organized a one day Sports day for its students of B.Ed and MA Education on the 16 th of February 2013. Its objective was to develop in the students a sporting spirit, a venue to display their physical prowess and gain hands on experience of organizing a sports day at a school in future.   The day was scheduled to begin at 7:30am at the Christ University campus, where the students assembled near the auditorium block. Two buses were utilized to transport the students to the Christ University Kengeri campus which was the venue of the Sports Day. All required arrangements were made there. On reaching the campus at 9:00 am, there was short break for tea. Ample seating arrangement and a tent was erected on the vast sporting grounds of the campus. REPORT ON DISPLAY OF TEACHING AIDS - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The event that has given the opportunity to the teacher trainees to display and demonstrate their teaching aids and teaching models was conducted on 10 th January,   2014.   The event was inaugurated by Prof. Mallika Krishnaswami, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. The Dean addressed the student teachers with an inspiring talk. Ma’m spoke about the way the School of Education showcases their creativity, talent which is inspiring year after year.   Every year, teaching becomes more challenging with the students becoming more restless and energetic.   So, it is quite a bit challenging for the teaching fraternity to grab their attention.   With technology growing exponentially and information being easily accessible for the students, dependency on class room teaching is reducing.   But the emotional connection between teachers and students cannot be replaced with technology.   With teachers being committed and professional to what they do, overall develo
