REPORT ON CAREER TALK ORGANIZED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF LIFE SCIENCES ON 11 DECEMBER, 2018

The Department of Life Sciences had organized a guest lecture entitled “Trends and Opportunities in Biotech Industry” as a part of the Corporate Interface Connect as well as placement initiative on 11 December 2018.The resource person was Dr S S Easwaran, Academic Director, Biocon Academy, Bangalore. The talk was held in the Council room, Central Block, Main Campus, CHRIST (Deemed to be University). Dr. Easwaran talked about the trends and opportunities in the biotech sector, and the expectations of the hiring bodies in any biotech industry. He presented the current scenario of the global Biotechnology sector, regarding the revenue it generates and also the growth it had attained in terms of research and development.  He concluded with the brief explanation of the course module running in the Biocon academy, and the placement scenario as of today. He talked about the qualities one should have in order to achieve success and stability in the career. Faculty members and students interacted with Dr. Easwaran with respect to career prospects for life science students.

Report on Annual Sports Day 2013 School of Education organized a one day Sports day for its students of B.Ed and MA Education on the 16 th of February 2013. Its objective was to develop in the students a sporting spirit, a venue to display their physical prowess and gain hands on experience of organizing a sports day at a school in future.   The day was scheduled to begin at 7:30am at the Christ University campus, where the students assembled near the auditorium block. Two buses were utilized to transport the students to the Christ University Kengeri campus which was the venue of the Sports Day. All required arrangements were made there. On reaching the campus at 9:00 am, there was short break for tea. Ample seating arrangement and a tent was erected on the vast sporting grounds of the campus. REPORT ON DISPLAY OF TEACHING AIDS - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The event that has given the opportunity to the teacher trainees to display and demonstrate their teaching aids and teaching models was conducted on 10 th January,   2014.   The event was inaugurated by Prof. Mallika Krishnaswami, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. The Dean addressed the student teachers with an inspiring talk. Ma’m spoke about the way the School of Education showcases their creativity, talent which is inspiring year after year.   Every year, teaching becomes more challenging with the students becoming more restless and energetic.   So, it is quite a bit challenging for the teaching fraternity to grab their attention.   With technology growing exponentially and information being easily accessible for the students, dependency on class room teaching is reducing.   But the emotional connection between teachers and students cannot be replaced with technology.   With teachers being committed and profession...

A Report on One Day Exhibition, Workshop and Lecture on Numismatics

Department of History and   Kannada,Christ University in collaboration with Karnataka Numismatics Society , Bangalore organized a one day   exhibition, workshop and lecture on numismatics” on 12 July,2014 in Gourmet extension and Assembly Hall ,Block -2 from 9 am to 3pm. The programme was divided into two slots, exhibition and lecture session. The programme began with an   inauguration of the exhibition in gourmet basement at 9.30 by Mahesh Jambulingam , President , Karnataka Numismatic Society and Dr.John Joseph Kennedy, Dean, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University.
