Inauguration of Life Science Association 2019

The Life Sciences Association inauguration was held on June 25, 2019 in the KE Auditorium, Block IV, Main Campus, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Bangalore. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. Vibhava Shukla, Associate Scientific Manager, Biocon Ltd., Bangalore. The inaugural event started with an invocation dance by the students of Life Sciences. It was followed by lighting the lamp where Mr. Vibhava Shukla, Fr Jobi Xavier, the HOD of Life Sciences, President of the Association and the CFO of CHRIST, Dr Anish Nag, Coordinator of the Life Sciences Association, along with Dr. Sayantan., former Coordinator of Life Science Association, Prof. Antony P.U., Prof. Xavier Vincent, Prof Manjunath and Prof. Ganesh did the honours. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Anish Nag. He also presented the new logo of the Association, released e-book for PG internship report compilation and also introduced newly elected members of the Association. This was followed by a scholarly lecture by the chief guest on Drug design and development. After the lecture, Prof Xavier addressed the students on the topic of environmental awareness. Fr Jobi addressed the gathering afterwards. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Amie Maria Jiji, 2 MSc Biotechnology and the General Secretary (PG Council) of Life Science Association.

Report on Annual Sports Day 2013 School of Education organized a one day Sports day for its students of B.Ed and MA Education on the 16 th of February 2013. Its objective was to develop in the students a sporting spirit, a venue to display their physical prowess and gain hands on experience of organizing a sports day at a school in future.   The day was scheduled to begin at 7:30am at the Christ University campus, where the students assembled near the auditorium block. Two buses were utilized to transport the students to the Christ University Kengeri campus which was the venue of the Sports Day. All required arrangements were made there. On reaching the campus at 9:00 am, there was short break for tea. Ample seating arrangement and a tent was erected on the vast sporting grounds of the campus. REPORT ON DISPLAY OF TEACHING AIDS - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The event that has given the opportunity to the teacher trainees to display and demonstrate their teaching aids and teaching models was conducted on 10 th January,   2014.   The event was inaugurated by Prof. Mallika Krishnaswami, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. The Dean addressed the student teachers with an inspiring talk. Ma’m spoke about the way the School of Education showcases their creativity, talent which is inspiring year after year.   Every year, teaching becomes more challenging with the students becoming more restless and energetic.   So, it is quite a bit challenging for the teaching fraternity to grab their attention.   With technology growing exponentially and information being easily accessible for the students, dependency on class room teaching is reducing.   But the emotional connection between teachers and students cannot be replaced with technology.   With teachers being committed and profession...

A Report on One Day Exhibition, Workshop and Lecture on Numismatics

Department of History and   Kannada,Christ University in collaboration with Karnataka Numismatics Society , Bangalore organized a one day   exhibition, workshop and lecture on numismatics” on 12 July,2014 in Gourmet extension and Assembly Hall ,Block -2 from 9 am to 3pm. The programme was divided into two slots, exhibition and lecture session. The programme began with an   inauguration of the exhibition in gourmet basement at 9.30 by Mahesh Jambulingam , President , Karnataka Numismatic Society and Dr.John Joseph Kennedy, Dean, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University.
