On 12 August 2024, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) signed an MOU with Freethought Foundation and Freethought Labs (OPC) Pvt Ltd for Phase I towards developing a high-quality large language model (LLM) in Kannada. This project will be hosted by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Languages as a contribution to Karnataka and Kannada. The outcomes of the project will be Free and Open Source (FOSS) to encourage innovation and collaboration.
The department of Physics and Electronics organized its annual Electronics Project exhibition on 5 March 2025, at Bangalore Central Campus. The project exhibition was organized by the final year B.Sc. PME and CME students under the guidance of the faculty members of the department. This exhibition was conducted as an experiential learning method for the students to help them with their skill development through hands on activity. This is to bring out some creative, innovative ideas in the field of electronics design, IoT systems from the students that can make them ready for employment as well as create future entrepreneurs. This exhibition was also a part of SDG week celebrations of the University.
