Report on Guest Lecture organized by Biotechnology Association on December 8, 2014..

The sixth guest lecture of the academic year 2014-15 was organized by the Biotechnology Association on December 8, 2014 in the Assembly Hall, Block II of Christ University Main Campus. Ms Bhavya D, who is currently a pursuing Ph D in the field of Plant Biotechnology in Nottingham University, UK delivered a lecture on “Crops in the warming world”. 
 
She is an alumnus of Christ University who had done her B Sc BCB course during 2008-2010. She stressed the significance of the emerging area of Plant Genomics and how it plays a major role in improving agricultural productivity in the future. 
 
She also gave insights regarding courses in Nottingham University and other reputed Universities in UK to II and III year BCB and BCZ students. The students got a lot of information regarding the kind of research work in the field of Plant Biotechnology which is being carried out in foreign universities.

Report on Annual Sports Day 2013 School of Education organized a one day Sports day for its students of B.Ed and MA Education on the 16 th of February 2013. Its objective was to develop in the students a sporting spirit, a venue to display their physical prowess and gain hands on experience of organizing a sports day at a school in future.   The day was scheduled to begin at 7:30am at the Christ University campus, where the students assembled near the auditorium block. Two buses were utilized to transport the students to the Christ University Kengeri campus which was the venue of the Sports Day. All required arrangements were made there. REPORT ON DISPLAY OF TEACHING AIDS - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The event that has given the opportunity to the teacher trainees to display and demonstrate their teaching aids and teaching models was conducted on 10 th January,   2014.   The event was inaugurated by Prof. Mallika Krishnaswami, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. The Dean addressed the student teachers with an inspiring talk. Ma’m spoke about the way the School of Education showcases their creativity, talent which is inspiring year after year.   Every year, teaching becomes more challenging with the students becoming more restless and energetic.   So, it is quite a bit challenging for the teaching fraternity to grab their attention.   With technology growing exponentially and information being easily accessible for the students, dependency on class room teaching is reducing.   But the emotional connection between teachers and students cannot be replaced with technology.   With teachers being committed and profession...

CHRIST University Collaborates with Freethought for Kannada LLM Development

On 12 August 2024, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) signed an MOU with Freethought Foundation and Freethought Labs (OPC) Pvt Ltd for Phase I towards developing a high-quality large language model (LLM) in Kannada. This project will be hosted by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Languages as a contribution to Karnataka and Kannada. The outcomes of the project will be Free and Open Source (FOSS) to encourage innovation and collaboration.
