Report on the Life Scence Alumni Meet 2018

The Alumni Meet of the department of Life Sciences of CHRIST (deemed to be University) was conducted at 3.00 PMon January 26, 2018 in the Council Room, Central Block of the Main Campus. The event kick started with Fr Jobi Xavier, HOD of Life Science Department cutting the cake. This year the event was special due to the presence of three distinguished alumni of the very first CBZ batch of the University- 1969 batch. Prof Eden Joseph was instrumental in connecting with the1969 batch alumni and inviting them for the event. There was another fact to cherish the event as the CBZ 1991-94 batch alumni had come prepared to felicitate their Professors. The distinguished Professors who were formally felicitated by the 1991 batch included Prof Eden Joseph, Prof ArulChellaswamy, Prof Priyadarshini P Maddi, Prof DephenPinherio, Dr Johny Joseph, Prof Manjunath B T and Prof Ganesh S. The 1991 CBZ batch shared many memories of their undergraduate days. The faculty, alumni and a few volunteers from the current batch students had a photosession. The day ended with a happy bunch of people – both the alumni and the faculty - going back home with a contended heart.

Report on Annual Sports Day 2013 School of Education organized a one day Sports day for its students of B.Ed and MA Education on the 16 th of February 2013. Its objective was to develop in the students a sporting spirit, a venue to display their physical prowess and gain hands on experience of organizing a sports day at a school in future.   The day was scheduled to begin at 7:30am at the Christ University campus, where the students assembled near the auditorium block. Two buses were utilized to transport the students to the Christ University Kengeri campus which was the venue of the Sports Day. All required arrangements were made there. On reaching the campus at 9:00 am, there was short break for tea. Ample seating arrangement and a tent was erected on the vast sporting grounds of the campus. REPORT ON DISPLAY OF TEACHING AIDS - SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The event that has given the opportunity to the teacher trainees to display and demonstrate their teaching aids and teaching models was conducted on 10 th January,   2014.   The event was inaugurated by Prof. Mallika Krishnaswami, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University. The Dean addressed the student teachers with an inspiring talk. Ma’m spoke about the way the School of Education showcases their creativity, talent which is inspiring year after year.   Every year, teaching becomes more challenging with the students becoming more restless and energetic.   So, it is quite a bit challenging for the teaching fraternity to grab their attention.   With technology growing exponentially and information being easily accessible for the students, dependency on class room teaching is reducing.   But the emotional connection between teachers and students cannot be replaced with technology.   With teachers being committed and profession...

A Report on One Day Exhibition, Workshop and Lecture on Numismatics

Department of History and   Kannada,Christ University in collaboration with Karnataka Numismatics Society , Bangalore organized a one day   exhibition, workshop and lecture on numismatics” on 12 July,2014 in Gourmet extension and Assembly Hall ,Block -2 from 9 am to 3pm. The programme was divided into two slots, exhibition and lecture session. The programme began with an   inauguration of the exhibition in gourmet basement at 9.30 by Mahesh Jambulingam , President , Karnataka Numismatic Society and Dr.John Joseph Kennedy, Dean, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Christ University.
