REPORT ON THE GOLDEN JUBILEEE NATIONAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION ORGANIZED BY THE DEANERY OF SCIENCES on January 7, 2019

The Deanery of Sciences organized the Golden Jubilee National Science exhibition on January 7, 2019 in the Main Campus of CHRIST (Deemed to be University). Undergraduate and postgraduate students from the different colleges and Universities across India actively participated in the exhibition. A total of 70 teams representing the seven domains of sciences, viz. Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science and Life Sciences took part in the exhibition. There was a total of 26 external college teams, including few from outside Karnataka.

             The exhibition was inaugurated by the Honorable Vice Chancellor of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Fr Dr Thomas C Mathew. Dr T V Joseph, Coordinator of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Deanery of Sciences, Dr Suma S, National Science Exhibition Coordinator, Dr Surendra Kulkarni, Dean of Science, Dr George Thomas, Associate Dean of Science and the HODs and faculty of various Science departments were present for the inauguration.  The students showcased their talents in various domains of Science by way of exhibits spread across 12 stalls. One stall was dedicated to Innovations by Christities. The judges of the exhibition included prominent scientists from industry and academia. The Prize distribution ceremony was conducted in Sky View, Central Block of the Main Campus. Dr T V Joseph distributed prizes to the winners. Three teams from each domain were given cash prizes – Rs 3000 (First prize), Rs 2000 (Second Prize) and Rs 1000 (Third Prize). The students appreciated the practical learning experience obtained from the National Science Exhibition.
