Christ (Deemed to be University) has always attracted the best companies for campus hiring. Placement season 2019-20, has been no different and witnessed some of the Fortune 500 technology firms like Accenture, DELL India, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to name a few, hiring for the Technical Writing Profiles from different Programmes like MA Media and Communication Studies, MA English Literature and Master in Computer Application (MCA).  Top packages in the range of Rs.6.00 lacs to Rs.7.14 lacs Cost To Company (CTC) were offered to the recruited students.

Christ (Deemed to be University) nurtures the students for best placement opportunities through different soft skills training programmes conducted by industry experts. Summer and Winter internships help them get a first-hand exposure to the working of the industry. In addition to this, open elective courses add value to the education that students imbibe on campus. Students get an insight into various courses offered by other departments across the campus by taking open elective certificate courses, e.g. Media students take Cyber Laws elective offered by the Law School and Korean language course offered by the Languages department.

Service learning, is now part of the curriculum for the students of Christ (Deemed to be University). It is an initiative by Centre for Social Action (CSA), Christ (Deemed to be University), which is a social responsibility wing. Centre for Social Action works with selected departments of the University to integrate academic learning with community service for students to learn, practice and reflect. Service Learning helps students to undertake sustainable development activities in the community and other Institutions. Other activities of the Centre for Social Action include Rural Exposure campus, Social Responsibility Week, Child Sponsorship Programme & International Exchange Programme. The students of Media Studies and English Studies departments serve the immediate community by imparting the skills which they have imbibed during their learning in the University. Communication skills, both written and spoken, computer skills, photography and videography are some of the interesting skills that are passed onto the students from under privileged backgrounds in government schools.

All the recruited students, during the campus placement process had to crack a series of written tests which included multiple choice questions and essay writing to check their grasp on the English, and Group discussion on topics like current affairs, new innovations in technology and the way it is changing work culture etc., personal interviews to assess inter personal and communication skills.

The selected students from Christ (Deemed to be University) displayed exceptionally good communication skills. These include an ability to articulate in a clear and concise manner with clarity and simplicity, descriptive and explanatory skills, and a flair to work in a technology driven environment where one needs to constantly adapt to changes and embrace new technology.
