Python Programming Concepts

Technology jointly organized a Quality Improvement Program during 16-18th January, 2014. 

An intensive hands-on workshop on the widely used general-purpose, high-level programming language Python was conducted for all the faculty members by a team from Free Software Movement of Karnataka (FSMK) headed by Mr. Sarath M S, Joint Secretary, FSMK who has a proficient experience in Python programming.

The workshop was aimed at giving an exposure to Python, widely used in industries especially in graphics and game development. After a brief introduction on the history of Python, modes of compiling on Linux operating system and editor options, the programming basics were covered.
The topics covered include programming constructs like loops, conditions, input functions, lists etc, advanced structures like sets, tuples, files and object –oriented concepts using Python.

The three day workshop had 5 sessions in all, each with a Lecture, Practical and Evaluation component. The final session was devoted wholly for practice and problem solving.

QIP program was successful in equipping faculty members with an Intermediate level of expertise in Python programming.
