REPORT ON E – Junction 2014 - Electronics Department


Electronics Club had organized E-junction 2014, an Inter Class Electronics Fest on Saturday, 01 Feb 2014. It was arranged in room no 911, 9th floor, Central Block, between 1.30 pm and 5 pm.
 
The program started with an invocation song by Apoorva Ananth Hegde of 4 PME. Electronics Club initiated another best practice of inviting an alumnus of the department and working in Electronics related field to address the students during E-Junction. So this time it was Mr. Vinu Narayan, working in Cadence (a leading provider of EDA and semiconductor IP) and also Secretary, Alumni Association, Dept. of Electronics. He highlighted the significance of acquiring the technical skills as well as soft skills by participating in various activities and co curricular activities to get into and sustain in the industry after graduating from the university. In a very interactive way, he also gave some guidance/tips about the steps to be taken to get into a good Electronics Industry.

This year’s E-Junction had five events based on theme related to electronics, namely, Chart making (nano-technology/Non conventional energy resources), Treasure Hunt, Dumb charades, Quiz and Cross word puzzle. All the events were organized by the event managers from different classes under the leadership of Ms Shruthi R of 6 PME and it was the enthusiastic participation of students that made the event successful. The event managers conducted the events with well prepared rounds.

Prof. Benny Sebastian, head of the department of Electronics distributed the certificates to the prize winners. 

The third edition of E-Junction concluded with two dance performances by the students of CME and PME classes.

Jaison Y of 2 CME proposed the vote of thanks.

All the faculty members of the Department of Electronics were present throughout the program and encouraged the students.
