REPORT ON INVITED TALK BY DR PATTANATHU RAHMAN ORGAINZIED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF LIFE SCIENCES ON MARCH1, 2019

                The department of Life Sciences had organized a talk by Dr Pattanathu Rahman, Fellow of Royal Society of Arts, University of Portsmouth, UK. The topic was “Research and Developments in Biosurfactants and the introduction of synthetic biology to improve Microbial Processes”. He talked about the importance of biosurfactants and the process of scaling up the production of the same. He also spoke about educate the students about economy and the business model. He laid stress on the discovery, patenting and use of novel microorganisms for various biotechnological processes. The talk was followed by question answer rounds, that was highly beneficial to the students.
