Student Campaign - Department of History

Department of History organised a one day student campaign on 19th November, 2013 on account of World Heritage Week to spread awareness about  the voices  of history surrounding us  and the required steps to be taken to promote and preserve these speakers of  tradition , culture and identity.

The one day student campaign in the  campus was inaugurated by  Dr. John Joseph Kennedy, Dean, Humanities and Social Sciences, who  set the tone and temper of the campaign through his address.

First and Second year undergraduate students of History participated in the campaign in groups of 5 members each whereas third year students volunteered the management and administration of the campaign that lasted throughout the day. The participants focussed on spreading awareness through a  number of new and enthusiastic ideas and games such as temple trail, quizzes, treasure hunt, questionnaires ,pass the parcel, pick the chit, etc.

The campaign wasn’t far from its diverse ways such as signature campaign, passing the flyers, distributing bookmarks, online campaigns (through google, yahoo and other social networking sites). At the end of the day, the participants as well as the department finished the campaign with desirable feedback and motivating remarks from the students ,visitors,  professors and juniors alike.
